St. Abraam Community Service

St. Abraam Community Service helps the parish serve neighbors in need with mercy, dignity, and practical care.

St. Abraam Community Service is the parish’s mercy and outreach ministry, helping St. Paul serve neighbors in need with practical care, dignity, and Christian love.

A Ministry of Mercy

St. Abraam was known for generosity, compassion, and open-handed care for the poor. This ministry carries that spirit into parish life by organizing opportunities for service and helping the church respond to practical needs in the community.

Friends of St. Abraam Events

Friends of St. Abraam events give parish members concrete ways to practice mercy together. These events may include seasonal collections, food drives, outreach lunches, service projects, and support for families or neighbors facing practical needs.

One example is a Thanksgiving Food Drive benefiting MESA-Outreach. Parish members were invited to bring donations to a designated table in the church hall, including canned vegetables and fruits, rice, pasta, beans, canned meats and soups, boxed stuffing mix, gravy, cranberry sauce, peanut butter, jelly, instant mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, soups, and cake or cookie mix.

How Volunteers Serve

  • Food, clothing, and supply collections for families and neighbors in need.
  • Seasonal drives for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Lent, and other parish outreach opportunities.
  • Care packages and practical support prepared with dignity and attention.
  • Coordinated support for urgent needs under clergy and ministry guidance.
  • Visits, check-ins, and practical help offered with confidentiality and respect.
  • Service opportunities for families, youth, servants, and ministry groups.

Who Can Help

Adults, families, and ministry groups can participate in St. Abraam Community Service. Youth may also serve through appropriate projects with parent and servant supervision. The work may change by season, but the goal stays the same: to serve Christ by serving those in need.

Getting Involved

To learn about current needs, upcoming projects, or volunteer opportunities, contact the church or speak with the ministry servants. Donations and volunteer service should be coordinated through the parish so that help is offered responsibly and with dignity.
