Our Parish

St. Paul American Coptic Orthodox Church is an English-language Coptic Orthodox parish in Houston, Texas, served by Fr. Matthias Shehad and belonging to the Coptic Orthodox Metropolis of the Southern USA. We have worshiped at our current location since July 2017.

Our parish exists to make the beauty, depth, and life of the Orthodox Church accessible in a language people can understand. English is central to our parish life so that visitors, catechumens, converts, children, youth, and families can participate fully in worship, teaching, service, and fellowship.

Evangelism and outreach are at the heart of St. Paul. We want our neighbors and community to encounter the Orthodox faith not as something distant or hidden, but as the living apostolic Church: beautiful in worship, faithful in teaching, and welcoming to all who desire to know Christ.
