Book Club

Book Club meets once a month in parishioners’ homes for fellowship and discussion around spiritual books.

Book Club meets once a month in parishioners’ homes for fellowship, prayerful conversation, and discussion around spiritual books. It gives members a relaxed setting to read together and connect the spiritual life to daily life.

A Home-Based Spiritual Discussion

The group gathers in homes so the conversation can be personal, warm, and practical. Meetings are built around thoughtful discussion rather than a lecture format, with space for questions, reflection, and fellowship.

Book Club is especially helpful for adults and young adults who want to grow spiritually through reading, listening to one another, and applying Christian wisdom to family life, work, relationships, prayer, and service.

What We Read

Selections vary by season, but the focus is on books that support Orthodox formation, repentance, prayer, healing, discernment, and practical Christian living. Past and current discussion materials include spiritual and reflective works such as Everyday Saints, Fr. Arseny, The Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, Boundaries, Becoming a Healing Presence, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

What to Expect

  • Monthly gatherings hosted in parishioners’ homes.
  • Open discussion around a shared spiritual book or selected chapters.
  • Questions that help connect the reading to repentance, prayer, service, and relationships.
  • Fellowship in a smaller setting than a large church meeting.
  • A welcoming rhythm for people who enjoy reading, reflection, and conversation.

Who This Is For

Book Club is for parish members, adults, and young adults who want to read together and grow through meaningful conversation. You do not need to be an expert reader or theologian; the goal is honest reflection and spiritual growth.

Getting Involved

Check the church calendar or contact the church for the current book, meeting location, and next gathering. Since meetings are hosted in homes, details may be shared directly with participants.
